Masterclass “Communication and New Technologies” – PALETTA Project

From October 30 to November 1, 2025 at the Digital Research Center of Sfax (CRNS)

On October 30, 2025, Prof. Ikbel Charfi, manager of the PALETTA project, welcomed the team from Galatasaray University at the Digital Research Center of Sfax (CRNS), as part of the Erasmus+ PALETTA project. This meeting brought together teachers and experts around round tables and inspiring seminars led by Dr. Sonda Kammoun, Prof. Nazli Aytuna, Prof. Kerem Rizvanoğlu, and Dr. Sera Butun, exploring current themes such as ecological thinking in the age of artificial intelligence and human-centered design. The masterclass concluded with a design thinking workshop for the benefit of the students of the Professional Master’s program at ISAMS, led by Dr. Sera Butun.

Day 2: October 31, 2025 (first session)

The first session of the first day began with a presentation by Ms. Sonda Kammoun, co-manager of the PALETTA project at the University of Sfax. The purpose of this presentation was to validate the choice of the core module and the pedagogical tools of the PALETTA project.

This presentation was enriched by showcasing the educational toolkits designed by the various groups of teachers involved in the project.

This opened the way to a fascinating discussion on educational content, as well as rich and constructive exchanges on pedagogy, communication, and digital innovation.

Day 2: October 31, 2025 (second session)

Following Ms. Sonda Kammoun’s presentation, the seminar by Prof. Nazli Aytuna entitled: “Creative Communication and Ecological Thinking in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” offered a stimulating reflection on the contemporary transformations of communication at the intersection of digital technology, sustainability, and creativity.

Professor Aytuna highlighted how artificial intelligence can become a driver of ecological thinking by promoting more responsible, sensitive, and inclusive design approaches.

Her presentation also emphasized the role of design and communication as spaces for ethical experimentation, capable of reconciling technological innovation with respect for cultural and environmental ecosystems.

This moment of exchange allowed participants to rethink the links between creation, technology, and environmental awareness, paving the way for new pedagogical and research perspectives within the PALETTA project.

Day 2: October 31, 2025 (third session)

The second day of this meeting concluded with the seminar by Prof. Kerem Rizvanoğlu entitled: “Human-Centred AI Design: Inclusive Conversational UX Design in the Gen AI Era”. This presentation proposed a human-centered approach to the design of artificial intelligence systems, emphasizing the issues of inclusivity, user experience (UX), and design ethics in the era of generative intelligence. Prof. Kerem Rizvanoğlu showed how conversational design can help make human-machine interactions more intuitive, empathetic, and accessible, while preserving fundamental human values.

This seminar opened a rich debate on the role of the designer in a constantly evolving technological environment, and on the need for artificial intelligence to serve humanity and creativity.

Day 3: November 1, 2025

The final day was devoted to a design thinking workshop for the benefit of students in the Professional Master’s program at ISAMS, encouraging co-creation and the practical application of the concepts addressed during the previous days.

This workshop made it possible to bring together Tunisian and Turkish approaches around projects in responsible communication and digital innovation.
